Background:Levofuraltadone is the L enantiomer of furaltadone, a nitrofuran antibiotic that is effective against bacterial infections in birds when added to feed or drinking water. Levofuraltadone has been used to treat Trypanosoma cruzi infection in Chagas' disease.
